If you're guilty, you will always be running even when you are not being chased. This applies all the time:

Embattled Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, on Friday manage to book herself on a British Airways flight to London with Nigeria’s President-Elect, Muhammad Buhari on board. Sources say she was aware that Buhari was on an scheduled trip.

Diezani had been billed to travel to the UK next week Tuesday according to a source, however upon learning that Buhari was traveling to London, she asked the airline to book her on the same flight as Buhari so that she could have a chance to discuss directly with the incoming President.

The British Airways flight departed Abuja this morning at 9:00am Nigerian time.

Several aides and close associates of Buhari said they were surprised to learn of the trip since they were with him till 7pm last night shortly after he arrived from his hometown, Duara, Katsina State.

A family source told Sahara Reporters that Buhari was traveling to London for the weekend and is expected back in Nigeria on Tuesday in time for the swearing in ceremonies.

But why did Madam Diezani sneak into the flight with Buhari? Real drama coming after May 29.

It is was like a carnival in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Monday when hundreds of youths trooped out to welcome Suleiman Hashimu, now called ‘The Traveller,’ who pledged to walk from Lagos to Abuja if General Muhammadu Buhari won the 2015 presidential election.

Hashimu arrived in Abuja on Monday evening after trekking for about three weeks.

A native of Katsina State, Hashimu said he was in Lagos when Buhari was announced the president-elect of Nigeria, so he left Lagos at about 5am the next day and arrived in Ibadan around 6pm.

He told journalists on her arrival in Abuja that he had gone to get a police report at Ibadan to allow for an unimpeded journey, but that as he could not wait for the processes to be completed, the DPO gave him his phone number.

He said that he received both encouragement and discouragement from friends and loved ones, but that he continued from Ibadan to Oyo, then from Ogbomoso to Ilorin with much welcome at every stop.
Hashimu explained that at Ilorin, people escorted him for several miles until he stopped at Oloru. He received much hospitality in Jebba, where unlike in other villages he met people who had heard of him. He further explained that about 20 people set off with him from Jebba and after some miles, 18 turned back, but the other two were more strong-minded and followed him.
The Traveller narrated how they encountered armed robbers close to Mokwa, but that, fortunately, he had already met one of them in Jebba and the would-be robber ended up giving him N200 for ‘pure’ (sachet) water.
Hashimu said he continued his trip from Mokwa to Kudu, then from Kutigi to Bida, and then to Suleja, after which he finally arrived in Abuja, his destination.

Hundreds of youths in the FCT lined up along Kubwa expressway from Dutse junction to welcome Hasimu, who they described as a hero. Most of them posed for photographs with him.

The journey, according to Google map, is over 700 kilometres.

America is not ready to joke with trouble makers in Nigeria. First, it was the extradition of PDP Ogun central senator-elect Buruji Kashamu to the United States but gradually the flood light of the US seems to beam on wife of the President, Patience Jonathan and others who attempted to disrupt the just concluded elections or instigated violence against innocent Nigerians.

Along with Patience Jonathan, ex-Niger Delta minister, Godsday Orubebe and governor of Katsina state, Ibrahim Shema are going to be sanctioned by America.

The US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, said in a statement that the US will shut its doors on people involved in any form of violence during the polls.

“Anyone found to have incited violence or interfered with electoral processes will be unwelcome in the United States and subject to visa sanctions,” Ms. Thomas-Greenfield said.

Although Thomas-Greenfield did not give names of those considered for sanctions, Patience Jonathan, Orubebe, Shema and others who became an item on social media across the globe for inciting violence and trying to scuttle the elections seems to have positioned themselves for this sanction.

Thomas-Greenfield said, while the elections were generally without a significant scale of violence, and irregularities in some parts of Nigeria, some people were resolved to undermine the will of Nigerians and interfere with electoral processes, resorting to violence.

It would be recalled that Patience Jonathan incited violence during a PDP Women Campaign in Calabar, Cross River state, when she said that anyone chanting APC's ‘Change’ should be stoned.

Thomas-Greenfield said US looked forward to the inauguration of the president elect, Muhammadu Buhari, on May 29 and the beginning of a new chapter of the relationship between the two countries.
APC legislators in Ekiti have insisted there is no going back on the impeachment process against Governor Fayose of Ekiti.
This is coming after the governor's media aide dismissed the impeachment as a joke. The embattled Speaker, Dr.Adewale Omirin in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Wole Olujobi, said

“It will soon dawn on Fayose and his aides that the matter at hand goes beyond exuberant media skirmishes that are being deployed to rally support for the governor.
“Attention of the world has shifted to Ekiti State following the leaked tape detailing electoral fraud perpetrated to give Fayose victory. After that, several issues in Ekiti State are being questioned on the place of the constitution in nurturing democracy in the country, and as responsible citizens, we must act right to make democracy work.”

“It is good that his men are talking in the media about the need to uphold the constitution in this matter even though they behave short of upholding the constitution in their conduct.
“Even though the governor trampled on the same constitution when he led thugs to attack judges in court and tore court records in the Chief Judge’s office, our duty is to follow constitutional path in this impeachment process.
“These men that are flying the governor’s banner will soon see the law in action. This impeachment process is real. We must rescue Ekiti State from lawlessness and fraud. The N1.3bn poultry project fraud case is still in court. There are still cases of unresolved murders.

“We have again seen the resumption of state-sponsored terrorism with thugs attacking and maiming Ekiti people after a break in 2006 when the governor was impeached for fraud and attacks on opponents.
“We thought his impeachment trauma in 2006 would have taught him a lesson, but the governor has proved that he cannot survive in a society where the law works. We advise him to come out of hiding and defend himself because we are prepared to give him a fair hearing. That is the reality he must face instead of downplaying serious matter of constitutional consequences,” the Speaker added.

You guys should take me serious when I talk, life is not about childish love or sentimental love. This thing is not our culture. Don't do everything the white man does because you don't know his reasons. Many white guys marry women who are successful and far older than them. But we are different here.

What am I trying to say? Nigerian men, stop kneeling down to ask a girl for her hand in marriage. Many ladies of today don't have respect for you already, they wont even kneel to apologize to you when they wrong you either as your girlfriend or as your wife. They feel equal to you, if not bigger than you.

The picture above is a clear example. The guy on his knees begged his girlfriend to marry him at a popular mall in Lagos and the girl looked at him on the floor and said "NO". Just imagine the trash.

Guys, don't act cheap. Ask a girl for her hand in marry as a Real Man, if she is not interested because you did not go on your knees move on to another. There are many decent single ladies out there without any responsible man looking at their direction. They need you.

And don't get it twisted. Using a Fork to eat is not culture, getting education is not culture; it's a choice. You can decide not to get western education and still be successful. You can decide not to use Fork to eat and yet you will still eat your food to satisfaction.

But if you sell your respect to a lady simply because you want her to marry you, you are on your own.

General Muhammadu Buhari's victory in the historic March 28th presidential elections have turned the political structures of the PDP on its head in a manner that marveled many within the country.
However, the uncertainties surrounding the staffing of the incoming Buhari administration appears to pose a more intriguing scenario. This is as sources say the horse trading for the sensitive ministerial positions within the Buhari administration has already commenced.

Ex-CBN Governor, Charles Soludo is said to have been presented by President Olusegun Obasanjo as the new Minister of Finance for the Buhari administration. But some APC big men are not happy...

Soludo had served as a member of the economic team for the Obasanjo administration prior to becoming the governor of the CBN.

Soludo’s presentation to the incoming administration as the likely minister of finance is reported to have raised eyebrows within the inner circles of the APC – who explained that Soludo remains a card carrying member of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, a party that hates the APC with passion. They complained that Soludo cannot be allowed to reap where he did not sow. But Soludo is not really an APGA man, he only went to Anambra to contest governorship election and has since left.

It is also believed that APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is not comfortable with Soludo but since he has a lot of respect for Obasanjo, he is open to further discussion ahead of May 29.
On Tuesday March 31, 2015, when a PDP man, Godsday Orubebe, tried to hold the entire Nigeria to ransom by preventing INEC chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega from announcing the results of the Presidential Election and declare the right winner, Jega remained very calm all through. Nigerians were highly impressed by Jega's disposition and statement. Thus we at alexalab.blogspot.com have endorsed the Chairman of INEC as The Man of The Moment. Kudos, Jega!
