Student spent 12 years for 4-yr degree after refusing sexual advances — ICPC

ICPC has come to the rescue of a student of the Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, who was victimised and forced to spend 8 extra years in the institution after rejecting sexual advances.

A student of the Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, spent 12 years studying for a 4-year course just because she refused sexual advances from officials.

The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), Mr Ekpo Nta, revealed this at the weekend.

He said the Commission rescued the student and is now prosecuting the officials involved.

“There is also a student at the University of Nigeria (UNN), Nsukka, who had spent eight years in the institution without graduating, as he was being victimised. We got involved and through us, he graduated," Nta was quoted as saying in a Tribune report.

He added that other students being victimised by officials in their various institutions.
